Adrian Spendlow Intro Poem

Performance

Performance

Don’t sit back, sit ready

Reality will be crippled

Rudely by this motley legend of Otley.

Pin back your ears for the rush

The rush

The rush of words cajoled

Of images reframed

Of exploration

Of reality sickled

Keep time

Keep rhythm

Keep track of the express from York

Our poetic bottle uncorked

So drive or dive or sink

Into this tsunami of ecstasy

Reality tripled for your pleasure

Adrian Spendlow has arrived.

Adrian Spendlow

Poem writer,

Brown boots,

Brown hair.

Tired back, but loose.

Bushy bearded,

Dream catcher wearer,

Band introducer,

Traveller of Europe

Amazing actor,

Crazy characters,

Bonkers, bouncing,

Round the room.

Shy sometimes

Various voices,

Stacks of stories,

Travelling talker,

Visiting us for a while.

Fabulously funny,

Incredible imagination,

Mad man,

Adding actions,

Sometimes scary,

Leaving laughter in the library.
