(They requested I read the ‘kidnapped’ poem I had done for them previously but I had lost it, so I came up with this)

 Danger

Don’t do this

Please leave

Following this

Public Safety Announcement

This act

Carries a health warning

And

A heart warning

This is serious

Keep listening

(Before leaving)

To these [!] press reports

“Thunderously” – “rabidly” –

          “captivating”–“hordes”

“Full-throttle” - “furious” -

                           “passion”,

“Passionate” – “powerful” –

                           “dashing”,

“In the middle of you”!

“They’ll blow you away”!

“Abandon”!

“While you still can”

(That took some heavy editing)

“Head-shaking

              hair-tossing wild men”

As purported in press releases

They tell tales

Tales of folk-lore

And the personal histories

Of people who are real

Well here

Are the experiences

Of such people

One woman ran out in tears

I know, I was there

It was Otley

(Where I lost the poetry)

She ran out,

Before they could do a

          rousing cheerful one

To bring us back round!

Now

For the heart warning

Another woman

Lost her credit card

They - found it

I had to announce it

‘Will Sophie Posit,

Please go outside

To meet Tanglefoot”

She fainted

And lots of - other women

Really resented

‘Humph!’

Missing out

On their hair-tossing attention

Remember staying here

Listening

Could cause these things

To be happening

To you

One listener

Had a brain haemorrhage

I know - it was me,

So carried away

Shouting them on

I bust a blood vessel

It was me ‘ead guv

‘Ah,

I see,

You must have been to see,

(cheer – full of fear)

Tanglefoot
