Originally commissioned for
City of York Council. Happy Past Times is now
available as a performance or as a complete programme for the older person. Adrian works in collaboration
with Janet Wood and they are now in their third year with Happy Past Times. Listening to older people and
running reminiscence sessions they create a show in poetry and song directly
from people’s memories. Janet Wood is a Doncaster
(UK) based singer/songwriter with three solo albums and two children’s tapes
available, who works widely in community arts (including extended visits to
the USA). Happy Past
Times A reminiscence-based show all
about the long hot summers and the ways we entertained ourselves ‘way back
then’. Available as a show or you
may prefer to commission a full project specially suited to your needs or
area. Dancing in
the Kitchen A lively interactive
performance where Peggy starts by ‘dancing in the kitchen’ and goes on to a
wedding finale. Adrian is also available solo
with a reminiscence show: Adrian visits homes or other
groups of older people to meet those who are interested and runs an
entertaining informal session. Mixing reminiscence and
relevant poetry in an informal setting. “The stories that come out of
this are amazing!” - Follow on sessions bring a
booklet of your stories and lively poems written straight from your words -
posters too. Send an SAE or E mail and you
can receive a poem especially written from your memories as a frame-able
parchment. Ideal as a present. |
