This reel is an updated version of the 1998 reel of the year! with a lower gear ratio to suit either redgilling(Lure Fishing) or uptiding. A lovely light small to medium size reel, with one of the best drag systems that I have seen on a multiplier for years. So smooth to handle screaming runs from either deep diving Pollack, Coalfish or Bass, which in so many cases can be the main cause of lost fish. The anodized aluminium spool runs so freely on the 4 stainless steel ball bearings making it easier to achieve faster and longer casts, and much quicker drops down to the seabed in deep water than conventional reels. Now this reel is ultimate in its class, a superb ultra light specialist small multiplier which can be used for a variety of applications. I got my first 965 at the latter part of 1998 to test, and without any doubt it is a real cracker. I have been using this reel for redgilling, catching big pollack in water up to 200 feet deep, combining it with a new Penn Extreme 2oz to 8oz Uptide special. I have landed fish over 20lbs that tear off my 20lb mono so smoothly on the first dive, and with the drag system set that Penn Internationals are renowned for, find it almost impossible to lose a fish like a pollack that is continually making surging runs back down to the wreck. PENN EXTREME II UPTIDE RODS: 2oz to 8oz. or 4oz to 10oz test.

These beautifully finished 9ft 6inch ultralight uptide style rods are exceptional, whether you are using them for driftfishing over wrecks, livebaiting for Bass, Uptiding or downtiding. Completely revamped with a new blank and quality fuji reel seat and rings, these rods are superb. The coloured tip section is extremely sensitive and you can actually feel a shy feeding pollack or Bass mouth your bait before taking, and once hooked the rod handles the fish brilliantly and has no dead spots in the blank action what so ever. A new long tapered foregrip is comfortable to use over long periods of rod handling and the butt section is perfect for using like a normal boat rod rather than an over long handle that most uptide style rods have, making you have to tuck it under your armpit whilst playing a fish. The rods now come in an attractive waterproof rod bag, so sensible for that day out on the boat in wet conditions. I think the 2/8oz tip Extreme II is perfect for the above kinds of fishing, and for those wanting a rod just slightly more powerfull for casting bigger style leads, the 4/10oz Extreme II is just the job. Top of the range INXS II are serious rods for the serious angler. Manufactured from a complex carbon weave cloth, Fuji top quality reel seat and intermediate rings, make these one of the finest uptide style rods ever made. The finish is only what you would expect from a top flite company, black and red whippings tipped with red & Gold, and covered in a superior gloss epoxy finish. Both rods will handle any application for medium to light boat fishing and are featherlight to hold. The butt section again has comfortable long tapered grips either side of the reel fitting and the length of the butt to reel section allows the angler to play a fish and wind the reel like a normal boat rod, but with the extra length and sensitivity for total control of hard fighting fish. PENN INXS II NEW BOAT RODS:

This brand new range of boat rods will revolutionise the top downtide rod market! a new ultra light but powerfull carbon weave cloth not only built for strength, but attractive to the eye, make these rods a little bit special. They are equipped with genuine Fuji BNHG intermediate rings, whip finished to the high INXS II standard, and have a Deluxe Fuji graphite screw winch reel fitting, the butt detaching effortlessly from the main rod section. 12 inch long ergonomic grips above the reel make the rod comfortable to hold and the shape helps stop rod slip which normal round grips are renowned for. I still cannott get over how light these rods are.
