Ponders End

This venue is very similiar to Picketts Lock but the fish overall tend to be of a better stamp. Roach again are the dominant species with skimmers and perch also present in large numbers. Pegs no.1 to 9 although fished heavily are always consistent although it is well worth trying the pegs immediately after the road bridge upto the "Beefeater" where roach and skimmers upto 1lb are present.

The basin also produces good size skimmers which respond well to groundbait. Larger bream can often be seen rolling on the far side where the Ford factory is. However, these fish do not show all the time and if you do decide to fish for them be prepared for a long wait.

Ponders End is one of the most consistent stretches of the Lee and will fish no matter what the weather (almost!) If you can't get a bite at Ponders End then it is doubtful that you will get a bite anywhere else on the Lee.

Groundbait works well here with Sensas Roach and Van Den Eynde Supermatch being amongst the more popular mixes. Should you decide to try for the bream then Van Den Eynde Superfeed is a good choice.

Good size skimmers and roach can be found in the bay, especially in Summer.
