ANOTHER NEW UNUSUAL EVENT AN OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN UNDERWATER EXPEDITIONS THAT EXPLORE THE MYSTERIOUS DEPTHS OF LAKE WINDERMERE
Definitely one for the amazing award - a chance to dive in a submarine. The deep, dark waters present little difficulty as our submarine is designed to operate at depths of 300 feet and is fitted with powerful underwater lights and large viewports (similar to driving in a car at night). Sonar equipment, cameras and scientific instrumentation help to locate and record any unusual targets.
The Windermere submarine allows passengers the chance to explore inner space in complete comfort. The local underwater scenery is unusual with each dive exploring an area of the earths surface that is little known and in many cases has never been seen before.
The submarine excursion is usually about one hour per trip with one pilot and a maximum of ten passengers. Lake Windermere has a surprisingly varied profundal fauna with numerous different species being recorded. In addition there have been numerous stories over the years concerning boat wrecks and sunken aircraft so we may even get to see one of these. It depends on how cloudy the water is on the day whether well see much but we should definitely be able to see a wreck on the bottom plus its a great experience knowing that you're down underneath Lake Windermere.
