A BIT
ABOUT ME..
Hi, my name's
Martin, I'm 18 years old.and I'm a Scouser.
I joined Bailrigg
FM at Fresher's Fair, unaware of the perils that lay before me.
Now, I've got my own show and I'm producing local sports reports
for the News Show, under the guidance of the inimitable Head of
Sport, Paul Turner, who incidentally is beginning to refer to me
as 'Mr. BBC.' (actually we call him Everton Man, but don't tell
him that - Ed.) I don't know whether the new nickname will catch
on or not (...as the case may be!). Nowadays, when I'm not rehearsing
for the Theatre Group's production of 'A Christmas Carol', taking
as many packs of free Throaties as I can carry from the 'Trading
Post', or (God forbid, working) I can usually be found in the studios.
Why? To find out how I get one of those lovely black 'BFM' T-shirts,
of course!
My quest continues..
ABOUT MY SHOW...
After successfully
passing my 'audition' during Radio Virgins Week, (thanks very much
Karl Grewar) I had hoped to be locked in a studio with the enchanting
Nicola Jones for two hours; but alas, due to timetabling and the
fact that Bailrigg FM didn't want to have their most exquisite presenter
harassed, it was decided that we should broadcast separately, leaving
me safe from the attacks from the wacky Welshwoman.
I present the
'Breakfast' show on a Wednesday (between 12 midday and 2pm).well
that's early enough for me! So all of you non-sporty types can slob
out with a nice cup of whatever (or 'hair of the dog') and listen
to a mix of good tunes (including today's best music and, of course,
the obligatory 'Beatles' track) and a mix of not too good tunes
(.namely the stuff that people have asked me or the stuff I've been
forced to play!)
Yes, I'm a Scouser.and
no, I don't steal hub caps. I only 'borrow' them. (that's what they
all say - Ed.)

BBC
RADIO MERSEYSIDE
Before I came
to Lancaster, I spent three months working in my beloved home town
of Liverpool working at BBC Radio Merseyside (amongst other things)
as a reporter. Although the webpage is an embarrassment to the place,
it still helps me re-live fond memories...'I gave them the best
months of my life.'
SPEKE
FROM THE HARBOUR
Ah, my beloved
magazine! Those who know me, know that I love Everton Football Club
(well, somebody has to!) This link will take you to the homepage
of the magazine which I write for.well I'm sub-Editor, actually!
As well as writing articles, I've also helped to transform the look
of the fanzine in the last year. It's a lot of hard work.but I've
really enjoyed it.
