Notes for New Residents

Rubbish Collection

Rubbish is normally collected on Thursday.  When there is a bank holiday Monday it will be collected on Friday.  It is best to leave your bin out on the previous evening as the collection takes place very early, sometimes before 7:00 am.

There is a collection of recyclable items on the same day. Clean paper, cardboard, plastic containers and food and drink cans are collected on the same day as the main collection.  They should be left in a bag or box next to the wheeled bin.  Black bags will be treated as rubbish and not recyclable.

There are containers in the car park at Sainsbury’s for glass and the main centre for household waste is in Garnier Road in St Cross.

Bin Cleaning: Environmental Hygiene Services offer a wheeled bin cleaning service.  They can be contacted on 01962 767675.

Public Right of Way

There is a public right of way to use the footpaths on the estate.  However, the road is private, and access is restricted to pedestrians.  That is; cars, motor cycles and bicycles are not, strictly speaking, allowed.

Annual General Meeting

The AGM is held in April each year and all members of the company are invited to attend.

Security

Parliament Place has a Neighbourhood Watch scheme and our co-ordinator is Martin Keys at no 13.  Residents can obtain a 10% discount at Bridgers security on production of a card which Martin holds.  This is not valid on alarm systems.

The police can be contacted on 999 for urgent calls, and 01962 841555 for non-urgent business.  You can also contact crime stoppers on 0800 555 111 if you see anything suspicious.
