I
got my first accordion in 1950 when I was 5 years
old. Played accordion for many years and took up the organ in 1965. The
'group' era had begun and my interest moved to the 'pop' music of the
day and I played guitar in a group called the 'Beetles' - alas not the
real ones. First liaison with Ian Muir was in 1980 when I produced and
engineered Ian's first solo recording - 'Ian Muir's Welcome'. Now I mainly
play drums with the trio but for broadcasts and bigger functions it's
the 2nd accordion.

My accordion is a straight tuned Hohner Morino vintage 1960, the lVM
model which has 'domino' couplers. It is very good for the 2nd accordion
style of a Scottish Dance Band. |
