INTERESTS and hobbies

I am interested in celestial mechanics, particularly with regard to the solar system, and have whiled away many happy hours writing software to calculate accurate planetary positions. Observation of the planets is easy if you know when and where to look for them. I use a pair of binoculars, either 8 X 32 or 20 X 50. Observation of the night sky is easier when the moon is not near full. The site at NASA provides a good start.

I have always been fascinated by the nature of time, and in a model of human existence that allows for life after death, the reality of near-death experiences, precognitive dreams and the like. If you can get hold of a copy of a copy of J. W. Dunne's book, "An Experiment with Time", you will be off to a good start. More to follow here in due course.

Other interests include walking, swimming and gardening. I do the Times crossword regularly, and I enjoy a good game of contract bridge.
