Internet Search Engines and Directories
How do you find stuff on the Internet? As the differences between Search Engines and Directories diminish, many search sites are including both a directory and a search facility, I have therefore tried to categorise sites into UK and non-UK specific, rather than concentrating on whether they are more of a directory than a search engine or vice versa.
Some sites include a Metasearch facility, trawling for material using several search engines at the same time. Everyone has his or her own favorite search facility, and I suggest you try several, and get to know their idiosyncracies. Any comments I make are offered in good faith!
