Description Rhizome: creeping, subterete, diameter 6 - 10 mm.

Leaves: solitary or occasionally paired, to ca. 80 cm; cataphylls undescribed; petiole 10 - 21 cm, stiff; lamina green usually with yellowish green spots, narrowly lanceolate, 30 - 55 cm long x 4 - 6 cm wide.

Peduncle: 1.5 - 6 cm long with 4 - 6 bracts; flowers solitary.

Perianth [Perigone]: campanulate, purple except for white base; tube 1 - 1.2 cm long x 1.3 - 1.5 cm diameter, adaxially papillose; lobes 8 spreading or reflexed, deltoid-ovate to oblong, 7 - 9 mm long x 4 - 6 mm wide, 3 or 4-keeled and papillose adaxially, keels fleshy, papillose.

Stamens: 8, inserted proximally in perianth tube, filaments ca. 2 mm, anthers ovate, 1.5 - 2 mm.

Pistil: table-shaped; 5 - 6 mm long, stigma peltate, orbicular, 0.9 - 1.1 cm diameter, lobes 4 (normally), deeply emarginate resulting in 8 (normally) marginal indented lobes, with 4 hollows at centre adaxially divided by a central cross; ovary conoid, ribbed.

Fruit: undescribed.
