Comments Backer & Bakhuizen van den Brink 1968 give Musa acuminata forma rutilipes as one of three principal Javanese forms "connected by intergrades".  If based on forma rutilipes why the change to var. rutifiles (C. A. B. Backer) R. E. Nasution?
