Musa massonii P. Sagot ex J. G. Baker, Annals of Botany 7: 209 (1893).
Musa massonii var. massonii P. Sagot ex E. A. J. De Wildeman, Ann. Mus. Colon. Marseille ser. 2, 10: 66 (1912).
Accepted name none - an undetermined cultivated banana Synonyms Authorities Section Distribution Description References Baker 1893 : 209, Champion 1967 : 41 Comments Baker comments on this under Musa cavendishii [= Musa (AAA group) 'Dwarf Cavendish'] and writes " M. Massoni, Sagot Musa 21 (name only), supposed to be wild at the Gaboon and cultivated in Bourbon, is said to be like Cavendishii, but with slightly different fruits". I am not sure to which of Sagot's publications Baker is referring; it is not Sagot 1887. I do not know if M. massonii is sufficiently "like" M. cavendishii for M. acuminata to be considered as the accepted name.
