Comments In seeking a name for what we now know as Musa balbisiana Cheesman considered Musa seminifera Lour. but rejected it because it conflates Pisang batu (which is Musa balbisiana) and Pisang utan, which isn't.

According to GRIN this taxon is "an inadequately understood form of Musa x paradisiaca, may be Musa balbisiana".
