murder in the kibbutz

Murder in the Kibbutz (1993)

"Do those who flower a desert become desert themselves? Or do those who climb mountains turn into stones and boulders? This is a historical novel based on the experience of a Kibbutz in Israel. It is the story of triumph and achievement; and the murder of bodies, hearts, minds and ideologies and of the shaping of the strongest ideals by the basic fact of human existence. The passions with which the various characters in this novel struggle suggest that after all there is no escape from the basic ambiguity of the human nature, and today's rebel may indeed be tomorrow's fat cat."

Withdrawal (1994)

How well can any person know another or trust his words?

How can thoughts, words, spoken or written, mean something else than what they seem?

Are there no limits to the claims of one's parents on one's life, or the internal stresses and strains of family life?

Do parents hold the power of life and death over their children?

Withdrawal is the story of a struggle between a burnt out modern psychiatrist and a Kabbalist with a fascinating religious outlook. It is built around the murder of a brilliant immunologist who set himself up above others in more than one sense.

The author had crafted compelling and unforgettable characters who move inexorably to a tragic climax.

El Harén de la Sublime Puerta (1996)
In the Harem of the Sublime Porte (1993) Translated by Mariá Isabel Butler de Foley
