IN MEMORY OF AN OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER

The whole community here at St. Anne’s House was thrown into deep mourning on Easter Monday by the very sad death of Teresa Dudley; the longest serving member of the Drop-in team.

Teresa, pictured left, was a lovely person who was always busy and active. Everyone had a great deal of affection for her. The church from which she was buried was packed inside and outside. The size of the crowd bore witness to how much she had touched people’s lives. The drop-in clients were very sad indeed. One man was trying to place her in his mind, then said “I know who you mean;she was always kind and patient and always in a good mood.” What a splendid accolade!

Last December, Teresa was presented with a special award at our Edges Personality of the Year Award ceremony. She had been working in the Drop-in Centre since its innovation seven years previously. We all feel her loss very deeply, but what she gave and the way in which she gave, will generate positive and happy memories of her for a long time to come. Our whole hearted condolences and prayers go out to all her family. A special thought goes to the faithful members of Teresa’s Drop-in team; they worked happily together for a long time. We thank God for the lovely gift of the time we shared here at St.Anne’s with Teresa.
