White

Cremant d'Alsace, Cuvée Julien Dopff au Moulin

Grapes: 50% pinot blanc, 50% auxerrois
Tasting notes
Pinot blanc is the dominant grape variety in the sparkling wines of Alsace. This is round and full-flavoured.
Suggested food match
Smoked salmon, fresh salmon, ceviche.

KB Kuentz-Bas 2011
Grapes: 60% sylvaner, 20% auxerrois, 20% muscat

Tasting note
Delicious sylvaner-dominated blend made with fusion cooking in mind.

Trimbach produces a full range of wines but without doubt it is best known for the riesling grape, producing some of the best dry-style rieslings anywhere in the world.
Tasting Note
This has the weight and concentration of flavour of a grand cru with remarkable length of flavour, along with the precision and purity that marks out very top Alsace riesling. It makes a sublime partner to all manner of fish, poultry and vegetable dishes, with the fresh acidity to stand up to lightly spicy food too.

Bass, gammon, ceviche.

Tasting note
A lovely light pinot, soft and tasty with cherry-like fruit and a lot of charm.

Mushroom linguine, chicken with morels, cold meats.

Pinot Noir Réserve Cuvé 7, 2011

Tasting note
Very ripe-tasting pinot, rich, full-flavoured, round and deeply attractive.
Suggested food match
Roast veal, chicken liver salad, mushroom linguine.

Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Eichberg 2011

Tasting Note
The Eichberg is a fabulous vineyard for gewurz, always producing opulent wines and François Sorg makes one of the best. His 2011 is rich and powerful.
Suggested food match
Duck confit, Orange-skinned soft cheeses, Livarot.
