Angus Bennet from Forth Wines stepped in at short notice with a presentaion
on the theme "Unusual Wines", presenting wines from countries
one doesn't usually associate with winemaking. These were:
From Catamayor, Uruguay
Sauvignon Blanc £4.89 per bottle
Of great class, due to its typicity and strong concentration, this is
a unique wine that has won many awards in international competition. The
wine has a full bouquet of tropical fruit and green peppers, whilst on
the palate it displays a ripe citrus fruit and melon characters.
Tannat £4.45
This is an extremely deep-coloured wine with lovely ripe fruit on the
nose. This is backed up by the firm tannins which combine very well with
the ripe fruit.

Chardonnay Semillon £5.00
50% Chardonnay, 50% Semillon. the wine has an aromatic nose of peach and
citrus characters and a refreshing, zesty character.
Merlot Shiraz £ 5.00
80% Merlot, 20% Shiraz, an easy-drinking juicy red with velvet tannins.
From Mosaic, Chateau Musar, Lebanon
Rosé £6.06
Introducing the first vintage of Mosaic Rosé, a wine made from
100% Cinsault grapes grown near the village of Kefraya in the Bekaa Valley.
Rich, deep pink in colour with a nose and palate of summer pudding fruits,
ripe cherries, strawberries and blackcurrants.
Red £6.06
Deep scarlet in colour, the nose displays mature red cherry, blackcurrant,
tropical fruit (guava) and violets. On the palate, the velvety, soft tannins
reveal ripe red cherries, pears and blackberries, mixed with peppery cinnamon
spice and chocolate on the long finish.
