Lizard/Gecko - Ruth Bramley

Lizard
In the Summer of 2004, Ruth spent a very enjoyable week in Cornwall. The cragginess and beauty of Lizard Point inspired the writing of the first tune in this set, which came to life on a campsite within sight of Lizard Point, the most southerly point of mainland England.
Gecko
The following year, whilst on holiday in Kent, the second tune happened and Gecko seemed like a good name for it. And so the Reptile Set was created. The picture above shows the beach at Broadstairs, another lovely English seaside town. We think that Sam’s playing on this tune gives it a slightly North African feel. The band all agree that Ruth should go on holiday more often!

Ferris - sopranino recorder
Ruth - hurdy gurdy
Sam - bouzouki, percussion
