Help with our book

One of our SIG members is preparing a series of books, on the world's military aerobatic display teams, past and present.

This work is intended to produce what is hoped will be the definitive encyclopaedia on this subject, so you can probably imagine the amount of research work this involves. Although a considerable amount of data and historical material has already been gathered and processed, there must be an awful lot more out there, somewhere, which we do not have.

The book is to include all (if indeed that is possible) the military teams there have ever been, whether they were officially sanctioned or not, whether they were part or full-time teams, whether they were named or 'anonymous', whether they were formed just for a single occasion or airshow, or even if they never actually got to perform in front of an audience. The main thing is that they must be teams - we are not including solo display aircraft, or simply special colour schemes.

We are looking for almost any type of information, including dates, histories, team members, aircraft serial numbers, but especially photographs.

Therefore, we would like to contact anyone who has any knowledge or information which may prove useful to this project. Any material can be copied and returned if necessary, and any which is used in the book will be fully credited.

If you can help in any way with our cause, please make contact by sending an e-mail to jabrad@mts.net

Many thanks.
