The 1999 Team

	For their displays, the team's Hawks now wear 40cm high yellow formation numbers on their tailfins. The numbers are self-adhesive, and are only applied just prior to a display. The display aircraft are numbered 1 to 4, with the spare being number 7 - in the hope that one day, the team will be allowed to add two solos, 5 and 6.

The Lappeenranta International Airshow in Finland on 5th & 6th June 1999, was the first ever time that two display teams flying the British Aerospace Hawk appeared at the same airshow. The photo on the right shows the Leader of the RAF *Red Arrows, Simon Meade, and Jarmo Majapuro, Leader of the Midnight Hawks*, discussing display flying the British Aerospace Hawk aircraft.

Above & right : These two photos show the *Red Arrows* holding their pre-display briefing around one of their Hawks, with the Midnight Hawks also in attendance.
		On the Sunday of the show, the *Midnight Hawks* flew in the back seats of the *Red Arrows* Hawks during their display. The photo on the left shows Ltn Seppo Tuovinen, *Midnight Hawk* #2, giving a "thumbs-up" after a successful display riding with Red 2.
