comments: I am 17 and go to school in the middle of Oxford. I have supported Town as long as I can remember, but I get a lot of stick from friends (and enemies) here. It would be alright if Swindon could actually string some results together, and although we always seem to beat the scum at the County Ground this is the only time in the season where we stuff them - they always seem to finish above us. Anyway, I love Swindon, and think that McMahon is a basically good bloke, but he was not the right man for the job - if an ex-Liverpool tough guy can't motivate us and get us passing then there must be something wrong. It'll be sad to see him go, but we must look forward to a new dawn for STFC, a dawn in which we can win away and get a cup run going. (That'll be the day...)

comments: I think McMahon should not have gone anywhere and also that Swindon will struggle this season unless they appoint someone with a little clout!!! Also someone with an eye for quality because we need a quality midfielder to control things!! Anyway UP THE TOWN and Oxford can suck my dick!!

comments: Been a Town fan for nearly 20 years. I live in France now, so I don't get to see them much. I had heard that they were playing crap this season, but having seen them for the first time against Tranmere (thanks Sky!), I can't believe it - they played well and deserved to win. Why was Ndah's goal disallowed??? I'm glad McMahon's gone, though. Bring back Macari. Come on you Reds. Incidentally, I follow a local team in France - Red Star 93, who play in the second division, and who should be playing for them - none other than Freddie Darras (and he's the best player there).

comments: Saturday's defeat to Watford dealt a big blow to me.  Even bigger than when we lost 6:0 to middlesbrough because we were playing so good in the first 35 minutes, then it just fell apart.  I am one badly disappointed fan.

comments: Dear Steve, As you know I play for your old team Liverp**l. Would it be possible to follow in your footsteps and come and play for you? I am very willing just to sit on the subs bench and wait for Iffy or George to come off before starting. Yours as ever Michael

comments: I have just found your site again after some searching. It's the best Swindon site I have found. Then again I think there's only two. I've been a Town fan all my life. Born in Swindon, lived in Purton for 4 years before moving to Adelaide-Australia in the early sixties with my parents. I was at the Swindon match in 1963 when Swindon gained its first ever promotion. I think we be Shrewsbury 1-0. What a night, ran on the pitch and got trampled. Bit of a downer that we could not be at Wembley for any of the 3 visits. When they won the League Cup it took nearly 24 hours for the result to come here by carrier pidgin. You web site is almost as good as being there. Last year we had Swindon live away to Crewe. I told all my friends and work-mates to watch the match. To be a Swindon fan you have got to have thick skin. What a load of 'efin' rubbish. Good job I don't pay to watch crap like that. I hope they are better this year. Could not be any worse. Keep up the good work.

name: anthony ivetac

nice one for the website - I wish I had the dedication to update it so regularly - much more regularly than the teamtalk talk page. I am a student at Reading university and managed to go to every home match bar two last season, and one away match at QPR. Something which continually baffles me about STFC is why mega-rich companies like Honda will not invest in us when they are based in swindon. Hunt says that it is because we are making losses each year, but if we get some cash then we can make profits for a change. Anyway, I'll be at the Oxford match tomorrow.

Well keep up the good work I will be back during the season,I was at home for the first time in six years this year and seen the match against Sheffield utd it was great to be back but its just not the same without the old TOWN END , does any body else feel the same !!! name: David Capel

comments: Mc.Mahon must go.  It's 3 years since he took over and we've gone nowhere, he's made many bad signings and sold millions of players.  Also we must be the only side in the Football league to have a chairman who won't go to away games.  Sack the board.

ryan.ferris@uwe.csm.ac.uk

name: Ryan Ferris

comments: I think next season, the council want to sell the ground to Swindon and then we can get a sponsorship deal on a new stadium (similar to Bolton's Reebok stadium).Jason Drysdale is shit and so is Cuervo!!! UP SWINDON!!!

name: STEVE MORRIS

comments: Really pleased to see stuff on the town, living in Kent we dont get much from the papers on a Wiltshire club. keep it up

a.c.tegg@newcastle.ac.uk

name: Andrew Tegg

comments: Its hard to get any imfo up here so the sites a god send.Well another season of under achievement and this will never change I fear until we get some ambition and a board who will back and share the ambitions of the supporters. We must have the largest catchment area for supporters in the country so why don't they attempt to make use of it. Something has to be done to stop the club going down the pan, the board have never seemed interested so I get the impression the 2nd division beckons next season!!

Keith_Archer@albriw.com

comments: I have supported town since the mid sixties and have been exiled to the west midlands since 1974 but have still managed to get to most home games and many away games, particularly in the last 7 years or so (season ticket holder in the north stand for the last 4 seasons). Congats on this web site, the best STFC one I've seen. Hoping for a better season than last with more footy played from the back and on the ground. If not, Macca's gotta go.

name: Phil Dunn

comments: Hi there Graham Just a short message to say thanks for setting up a great website on the Town. I visit regularly as yours is by far the best of the few STFC sites on the web. I've been a fan for the last 20 years and both my sons are well and truly indoctrinated. My wife is a fan and my 8 year old daughter also loves going to the games. Without your website we'd all be lost without our Town fix through the summer months. Thanks again and keep up the good work, See ya in the South stand maybe!

mikefwright@msn.com

comments: I left the town in '76 and have only seen away games since then (no wins either!). Your page is excellent and I will be a regular caller - thanks for all the effort.

Nick.J.Smith@btinternet.com

name: Nick Smith

comments: Great to have news on the Town as living between Oxford & Banbury there is no football here. Supported the Town from late 60s when we had crowds of 24000 plus crammed into the County Ground. The best player ever at Swindon was Don Rogers a god then and still tops today. The best games I have seen are Burnley semi-final at West Brom to get to Wembley and the Play Off 2nd leg at Tranmere to again get to the twin towers with Hoddle having all the crowd home & away marvel at his skills. England will win the World Cup in France

comments: Very impressive web site!  Love the Favourite team section. (Reading the comments I realize I've left Rod Thomas out of mine ... aaah!)  Been a Swindon fan for over 30 years (since I was nine).   Best ever Swindon moment - winning the League Cup in 1969 - are there many other fans here who remember the Swindon team of the late 60's early 70's.  Next best moment beating Leicester 4-3 to get into the premiership.  Worst moment - Glenn Hoddle leaving when we got promoted. The web is the only way I can keep in touch with developments at the Robins now I live in London.   How about getting more pics and maybe even some interviews on the site??? Keep up the good work. ML
