informal education

Some see informal education as the teaching that goes on in daily life (and is thus the companion to informal learning).

Some see it as fostering environments where incidental learning can flourish and where reflection can happen. The 'educators' involved tend to look to process and:

  • place conversation at the centre of their activities.

  • work where people are and with what they bring.

  • look to explore and enlarge experience.

  • put a special emphasis on building just relationships.
