The snippets from Matthew Wright's column today were:

'John Altman, alias EastEnders bad boy 'Nick Cotton', is ready to return to the soap.  "If they asked , I'd go back" says Jon adding hastily, "as long as they don't have me working in the Queen Vic."'

Also....'The BBC tried to tempt EastEnders hunk Ross Kemp to stay be offering him lots of new projects - including the chance to from a film on polar bears. Unfortunately, it didn't cut any ice'.....
