Miss Barbara Windsor

This amazing lady was born Barbara Ann Deeks on 6th August 1937 and was know to be a very bright child. She was in fact the only child of a London Bus driver and a Dressmaker who she has said to be a true East End snob.   Barbara's mother was her driving force, sending her child to elocution lesson as she had ambitions for Barbara as a telephone operator but Barbara sort entertainment as a career.   As a child, Barbara would sing and dance and once after a visit to the theatre with her Grandfather, she was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to go back stage and from that point, she decided that it was a showbiz life for her.

In drama school, Barbara excelled and won her 1st acting role at 12 where she played on of the babes in a pantomime.  The years that followed took Barbara to the stage but in 1962, she won two major roles in films which really brought her recognition, 'Death Trap' and 'Sparrow Can't Sing'.

Barbara's CV grew from then on but it was her appearance in 'Carry On Spring' really which put Barbara on the 'Billboard of Fame' so to speak and has never looked back.
