'TIFF'S CRUSIN IN NEW YORK ' An exclusive stating that Martine was living it up at a swanky New York bash hosted by Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. Together with Sporty Spice Mel C, Martine was one of the lucky 50 guest invited to see in the New Year. The article reports that the seven course meal included champagne and caviar and a disco churned out seventies music all night and most the guest came in Seventies - style outfits. Rating 7/10 cheerful showbiz stuff...

The Mirror Matthew Wright heads the page but whether or not he writes it is not confirmed. Unlike the cheerful note by it's direct tabloid opponent, 'MARTINE IN JET TERROR' was the headline on this page. Business class drunk hurls abuse is how this article begins. Ex- EastEnders star Martine- was abused by a drunken woman during the seven - hour trip from Heathrow....... Sitting across the aisle from Martine in business class was a woman in her late fifties "This lady took out a bottle of vodka and began swigging from it" a friend of the star told the reporter.....Then she turned on Martine who was on her way to the Big Apple see in the New Year with 'Chums' .... This confusing article goes on to say that Martine politely pointed out to the woman that the man she was talking to was not her boyfriend but just a friend... the woman stared at her and said "You bitch" and spent the rest of the journey flashing aggressive stares at Martine? What was this about?  New Year with 'Chums', "it's only a friend!" who was this woman? what was she implying? or was she linked in some way with this man who Martine was speaking with?... strange behaviour even when drunk, perhaps Martine's friend should get all the facts before passing it on to the press. Rating 3/10 not worth a story...........
