Motion Work & Hands

The drawings for the motion work & hands extend to 2 pages in the book, and are detailed and include a clutch t0 allow for time setting, as well as 2 wheels and 2 pinions, cut from solid rather than as lantern pinions.  This was tricky complex work, but eventually completed and mounted onto a dummy plate to make sure that everything ran satisfactorily.

The next stage was to make the hands, which were drawn on Detlacad and printed out, stuck onto 0.025” brass and cut out with a piercing saw, painted and fitted to the clock.  And it worked!
