Countryside Careers at the Great Yorkshire Showground 11th October 2011.

Over 1000 teenagers from schools around Yorkshire attended the Great Yorkshire Showground where there was nearly 60 different companies exhibiting. This was designed to show children entering for GCSEs what different careers are available within the countryside. Kaprico Eravelle & Tomschoice Emily taken out for the day, and foot trimmed as well!

Chris Berry meets a farmer is hoping to end with a flourish with his stock at the final show of the season.

It’s almost on his doorstep because he’s six miles away at Hill Top Farm in Dacre, where he farms with wife Sarah and in the past 15 years his herd has become one of the most respected in the breed.

14th & 15th June 2011, Countryside Days at the Great Yorkshire Showground, helping to educate 6000, 10 and 11 year old children about the countryside, food and farming. One of over 100 exhibits demonstrating where food comes from and how we look after our environment. Cattle taken were, bulls, Tomschoice Fortune and Tomschoice Falcon, heifer Tomschoice Fragrance and a bull calf, Tomschoice Gin.

Yorkshire YFC County Rally Annual Stock Judging 2011.

A group of 4 yearling heifers were taken to the annual YFC County Rally at Pateley Bridge for the stock judging event; and... it stayed dry for the day!!

Harrogate District YFC Annual Stock Judging 2011.

We hosted the Districts annual stock judging event; judges were Mr Ian Grayshon and Mr Ryan Atkinson, our many thanks to them. One groups of yearling heifers were put forward for placings and reasons plus one group of fat bulls and a group of breeding bulls for placings only.

 

New Stock Bull, Kaprico Eravelle 

This is a bull full of breeding; he is sired by the noted Wilodge Tonka and is out of the Greensons Gigolo-sired Kaprico Ravelle. Kaprico Eravelle, carries a Beef Value of LM+36. He is a full brother to the Kaprico Davelle, Supreme Champion at Carlisle in October 2009 and sold for 18,000gns.

29th November 2010 and winter has arrived early with a foot of snow.

Heifers being out wintered are definitely  not happy!

Firecrest was purchased from AK & C Stafford, he is sired by Sympa out of Kaprico Coquette an Ionesco daughter. Coquette is a daughter of Kaprico Ultimate the 2006 RASE Supreme Champion. He carries an EBV of LM+38

We were visited by Dr Gheorge Neata of the Romanian Ministry of Agriculture and Mr Costel Caras, President of the Romanian Syndicate of Cattle Breeders. Also Adriana Marin, Trade Development Adviser from the British Embassy in Bucharest

01/05/10, Carlisle. New Stock Bull purchased. Homebyres Drummie by Homebyres Vanhee out of Homebyres Udainsi by Haltcliffe Nijinsky was senior champion at the May show and sale and purchased for £15,000 gns. He carries a beef value of EBV+31 and a calving value of 5

 

07/04/10 Harrogate District YFC Stock Judging.

We again hosted the Harrogate District Annual Stock Judging Event and BBQ with two groups of heifers and one group of bulls.
