The village of Thorpe is situated (you will not be surprised to learn) below Thorpe Cloud. There's not much to it; the church is the oldest building, but is a fairly standard Medieval-as-mucked-about-with-by-the-Victorians affair. But on the day we visited, with the snowdrops bobbing amongst the lichen-clad gravestones, it did look rather picturesque.
