GWR 14xx CLASS - Kit ONE - Frames

The arrival of the first parcel was a big event having had to wait some 3 months from placing the order. At last a start could be made.
After unpacking the parts and checking off against the parts lists, the first task undertaken was to rough assemble the frames to ensure that everything fitted. The frames were then dismantled ready for painting. I decided to only paint the inside of the frames, masking off areas of known contact and plugging holes. I decided to leave the outside of the frames until the assembly of kit 5, this would avoid much masking. After plugging holes I subsequently decided not to plug holes but to paint round them and clean them up later. Incidently I brush painted rather than spraying.
The fitting of the horn blocks gave no problems.
Parts fitted together quite well although subsequently found some misalignment when fitting parts from kit 2. Altogether though an encouraging start.
Photo below showing completed frame at Phase 1. All photos, except that in the introduction, were taken using a JVC digital camcorder and then capturing still images in jpg format.
