Laeto hail from the sunny city of Dundee, where they all go to University. Inspired by the off-kilter maths post-rock of Mogwai, Slint, Rodan, and imbued with the crushing power of Fugazi and Shellac, they are truly a frightening proposition. After accompanying Snowpatrol and Pilotcan on the November 1998 jaunt around Scotland and with a reputation for breathtaking live shows (new friends/admirers coming into the picture constantly) they caught the attention of young Roddy from Idlewild (a good friend of Evol Records - hell, we like the little guy!) who have since asked the band to support them on the British tour in September.

To coincide with this Evol will release an extended playing 4 track single on CD only. This was recorded before christmas with Micheal Brennan, producer of the Super Furry Animals and live sound man for Mogwai, SFA Elastica in the fabulous Substation Studio in Cowdenbeath, Scotland. Also a planned 12" with Peeps into Fairyland is being discussed with Dogs Bollocks Fanzine writer Spencer. We hope to bring you more news about Laeto soon. Hopefully they will contribute to the Evol Singles club along side their friends Snowpatrol..............
