[The Odyssey]

From Circe to the Land of the Dead

Following Hermes' instructions, you take the moly to counteract Circe's drug, you rush at her with your sword, and when she shrinks in terror and offers to sleep with you, you accept, but then threaten to go on hunger-strike until she swears to release your men.

Click to enlarge After giving them the antidote she tells you to fetch the rest of your men from the ship and all dine in style. It's so much fun that you stay for a whole year. Your men remind you of Ithaca, but when you tell Circe you are leaving for home, she tells you that you must first go to the Halls of Hades to consult the soul of Theban Teiresias.

Before you leave, Elpenor, your youngest crewman dies tragically in a fall from the roof while drunk. You sail off, unaware of this incident, crossing the Stream of Ocean, and reaching the Land of Perpetual Mist. You sacrifice as ordered by Circe, and pour the blood into a trench. Immediately the souls of the dead come up, attracted by the blood.
