Yes, she wanted to!
She wanted to rush off and tell Penelope all the good news (she didn't know you
were home yet, of course) - but you restrain her. You tell her that the
Suitors have fallen victim to the gods and their own infamy - and thus there
is no cause to gloat. She fingers the 12 maids out of 50 who'd been disloyal
and slept with the Suitors. She goes to fetch them.
