The new main road from Siracusa to Ragusa bypasses the interesting parts of Modica - although you will cross the cleft in which the old lower town lies by one of the highest road bridges in Europe. If you want to see anything other than gas stations and supermarkets, take the old road to Ragusa - this will also, eventually, give you a superb view across to Ragusa Ibla before you reach Ragusa itself.
Módica Alta is a pleasant place, with some very fine baroque adornments - especially the church of San Giorgio - on the hillside the way out of town in the direction of Ragusa. Because of its situation its almost impossible to photograph "whole" - here are some details.
