Bruce Bethke
Born in 1955, Bethke is an American writer who is probably best known for his short stories. In 1983, his first professional publication, Cyberpunk, appeared in AMZ, (Amazing Stories?). It circulated for some time in manuscript form, probably inspiring Gardner Dozois to use the term Cyberpunk as a designation for the new movement in science fiction.
Def Cyberpunk, a novel based on this short story, has been promised, but so far, his only book is, Maverick in 1990, part of Assimov's Sharecrop, Robot City.
