This noble operating system has evolved from OS/360 through MVT, OS/VS2, and MVS to OS/390. During this time, the hardware has transformed from a 'big iron' dinosaur to an Open Server (!) which can run NT alongside UNIX applications alongside more standard 'mainframe' applications.
These durable systems will be with us for many years yet. Here we introduce the Oakwood courses for mainframe system software:
OS/390 Overview
Writing OS/390 JCL
Operating a JES2 system
Using TSO and ISPF
DB2 for Operators
DB2 and SQL for Programmers
Using VSAM
CICS for Operators
CICS for Programmers
