Manningtree Vehicle Show - 25 April 2004

Martin Gates

Arriving at 9am to set up our display, we started by dragging Luke Booth's collection from his van, while Rob Miles attended his autojumble stand.  Shortly to be joined by further support from Steven Gleed, and Terry Keeble with his car crammed full of varied exhibits.  Display machinery ranged from the superb BSA Ariel 3 of Rob Miles and Steven Gleed's smart Zündapp Falconette; Luke Booth's ABC Scootamota, TAS cyclemotor and Clark Scamp Special; Terry Keeble's Raleigh RM1c, Raleigh RM6 Runabout, Cyclemaster and another incredibly rusty old Cyclemaster that amused spectators; Martin Gates's Garelli BiMatic.  While the damp grass caused starting difficulties for some of our machines, a good day out was had by all.  Visitor enquiries exceeded the only four membership forms brought with us, leaving us wishing we had printed more to meet the unexpected interest.
