Introducing Linda Dunk
Most recent achievements include first place
in the British Society of Underwater Photographers' 2002 and 2003 Theme
Portfolio Competition, and a first place (for the fourth time) in their
2002 Open Portfolio Competition. Linda gained third and fourth placings
in the B&W print category, for 'Submerged' and 'Exploration' (see
Artwork and Sales page), at the 29th Festival Mondial de l'Image Sous-Marines
at Antibes in October/November 2002. In October 2002, Scuba Schools
International presented Linda with their Platinum Pro 5000 Diver Award
in Las Vegas. Finally, an early morning shot of a hawksbill turtle in
the Red Sea has recently won Linda a 'Highly Commended' award in the
2003 Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition, organized by the
Natural History Museum in London in association with BBC Wildlife Magazine.

Linda has written various articles for magazines, given numerous presentations on aspects of underwater photography, and has had her work used in holiday and other brochures, and books. She has also undertaken commission work for advertising purposes. She is a British Sub Aqua Club Dive Leader, and has been diving for twenty years. Linda has been the chairman of the British Society of Underwater Photographers, and runs underwater photography teaching courses. Having enjoyed being in the business of taking pictures of the marine world for over ten years, Linda is very keen to encourage more women to become active in this challenging but rewarding field. To take her pictures, Linda uses Nikon F100 and F801s cameras in a Subal housing, an SB25 electronic flash in a custom made housing and a slave Sea & Sea YS30 flash unit. Lenses used include Nikkor 16mm full-frame fish-eye, 17 - 35 mm zoom, 20mm, 24-50 zoom, 60mm micro, 35-80mm zoom, 105 mm micro and 200mm micro. Fuji Velvia is her preferred film. |
