The Beacon-Gringley on the Hill.

A local landmark - probably man-made, possibly for mounting fire-beacons in the Middle ages when adequate communications were a bit thin on the ground.  The view from the top is terrific. On a good clear day, it is said that one can see York Minster Cathedral - which is about 50 miles away. ( I personally would suggest a good pair of binoculars on a tripod might be a help!)  It's best use as far as I can see (forgive the pun) is for sliding down when it is snowing!
