The
Sheringham Lobster Potties are a mixed side, we dance our own style of
Morris dancing based on North West Clog and Garland, which some people
call the North Norfolk Tradition. We do have a
potted history page. At the moment we have 10 women, 6 men and 4 musicians,
but we are always looking for more people to join us, we are a friendly
lot and will teach you the dances, even the two left feet dance!
Each year
on the first Saturday in July we host the Sheringham
Lobster Potty Morris Dance Festival, which sees the coming together of over
20 Morris sides from all over the country and sometimes from abroad.
We practice most
Wednesdays during the winter months, at the St. John's Ambulance Hall, Windham Street - opposite the Lobster pub from about 7.30 to 9:30pm.
