Our story begins not at Goonie's birth, but in a north-German forest in the 1920s when a strange legless apparition appeared before a group of women dancing naked among the trees. The witless spectre appeared, rubbed its nipples with some carrots, spoke unto the women and then vanished. It is only recently that the malodorous mirage has been identified as being that of our Goonie, when the granddaughter of one of the women found a sound-recording of the apparition's words to the women and the voice and message can clearly be identified as being his.
