Goonie was born into a nice quiet middle class family just as the 1960s were drawing to a close. He was a remarkable child in that he was a Mod at the age of 4 months. In the above picture, he is actually wearing dog-tooth trousers and a double-vented bum-freezer beneath his swaddling clothes. He steadfastly refused to learn to talk until a very late age, prefering to communicate with the outside world around him using a series of unintelligible squawks and beeps.
