Breaking news..... Dalglish bids £10 million for Alan Shearer. he,hehehehehehe what does he think he's playing at. Shearer has a contract with Newcastle, Even if he has said on one of his golf games with Dalglish that he wouldn't mind joining Celtic then he can't. Like i say he's under contract and the only way he would be allowed to go was if newcastle made a proffiton him. To my reckoning Henrik Larrson AND £10 Million may be classed as making a profit,

Or how about this one, apparnntly he has £20 million to spare so how about this for a deal We get Larrson Plus Stubbs plus the £20 million and Celtic get.

Perez (free)

Serrant (500k) Dabizas (£1.5m) Pearce (Free)

Charvet (£1 m)....Hamilton £1.5m) Pistone (£3 m)

 Georgiadis (500k)....... Brady (500k) ....

Ketsbaia (£1m) .... Anderson (£2.5 M)

All that he would then need is to buy a load of promising youngsters, you no the type,.. the likes of Brian Pinas, Jon Dahl Tommason, Bjarni, Gudjohson and Ralf Keidel

The Celtic fans sure are in for a real treat with the quality players that Dalglish and Barnes will buy.

"Digger" Barnes has actually spent the last few weeks at the national centre of football speak in Shropshire getting a degree in Football speak, an essential part of coaching in England.

A copy of his pre match interview essay has just been sent to me, for which he scored 9/10 (shame he wasn't that good at scoring goals) any way the essay.

"At the end of the day Brian, the situation is it's a game of two halves, and you've got to take your chances when you get them. I'm confident , very confident that Shearer can handle the situation Shearer's quality, real quality , quality that shines like a trophy in our trophy room.

Obviously, he wants to do his best for the team, like in any situation, and remain positive and hopefully get a result, which we're all confident of doing. Now it's up to us to go out there and prove ourselves and pick ourselves up. It's always difficult at this level but we've been here before and we're looking forward to the challenge very much. If we concentrate and do what we know we can do, and prove to the boss that we're good enough, hopefully we'll put the doubters to rest...." J. Barnes

Yeah I think you'll agree he's getting the hang of football coaching, Like I say Celtic are in for a treat.

Newcastle's games in the UEFA cup winning season of 99/2000 have been snapped up by sky TV. It's such a shame ... I'll really miss Channel fives commentator Jonathan Pearce with classic's descriptions of teams such as "they are real quality, or s, " Actually Peter, They were crap."

Nicky Butt - "You'd have to call him ugly, Trevor"

Jaap Stam - "While we're on the subject of ugly..."

Paul Scholes - "A fair old crack with the ugly stick"

Sir Peter Beardsley - "Not a beauty, but quality"

Talking about Peter Beardsley HE NEEDS A JOB.

The post of under 19 coach at Newcastle comes up in a few days, There have been a few considered for the position and normally the fans wouldn't really be interested in who gets the job. I say normally as this time around one of the candidates would really catch the imagination of the toon faithful. PETER BEARDSLEY is on the short list, but looks unlikely to be offered the post as Ruud Gullit would see him as a threat. It's sad that such a popular player isn't given consideration for a position that he would be ideally suited for. However it's quite understandable, Imagine the scenario, A few months into the season, Newcastle go through a bad spell, say we get knocked out of the cups early on followed by a few bad performances. the fans could easily grow restless and start chanting Gullit out, knowing that Pedro could then be qualified to take over .

On the other hand, if Ruud is confident that he will not fail, then he should be bold enough to allow Pedro to come back.

ENGLAND Bore the pants off us again with another draw that we were expected to win....

I was going to talk about the poor passing, the poor defending the useless finishing, The long shots, the long balls given away, the crap ref , crap players, and Seamans long pants , the mindnumbing nothingness of the whole game and the sheer lack of ideas from a bunch of overpaid flops that call themselves footballers and the England team But it's all to depressing so I won't

Instead why not think positively, Its just a blip... England are now at the knockout stage of the Euro championships. They will have to beat Luxembourg at Wembley in September , which should be quite easy ... ahem.... , beating Bulgaria wasn't supposed to be too hard and they even lost a man... oh there I go again. Think positive, look on the bright side.

. After they beat the Borgs it's over to Poland 4 days later, full of confidence after the EASY game where they must beat the Poles.

If we don't beat the Poles then that's curtains, isn't it?. Well that's what the general opinion is... end of story, As far as I see it , it doesn't go to goal differance, it's your record against the other team that counts.

Now then, we beat the Poles 3 -1 at Wembley a few months ago. So let's suppose we don't beat them and it's another draw, that would give us both 13 points with Poland having to get atleast a draw against the Swedes to qualify . Will they get a draw? I wouldn't have thought so, leading me to the point. even another draw may be good enough.

So all is not lost cheer up it could be a lot worse.

Newcastle ...... and with Lazio selling Veiri for £28 million they are going to spend £13 million on Toon target Seedorf. As my friend pointed out on the NUFC bulletin board, WHY?

why would they be daft enough to spend that much on a player that they can get for £6 million? Madrid were quite happy with the £5.5 that Newcastle have offered so why did £13 million, like Hard Geordie says, It's a load of BOLLOCKS.

there was also something about Anaheim bidding £1 million for Dabizas, He looks like he may be the first to go, although Carl Serrant may beat him. Both Man City and Bradford want him and as he is only valued at around £500k surely even they should be able to afford that.

AND FINALLY, have you got an hour or so to spare. I am looking for a few guys or galls to do a bit of research into other web sites and answer a few questions about football websites It's something I am on with..If you have some time to kill drop me a line, It'll only be a one off thing.

Thankyou

As England prepare to play Bulgaria, all talk has been of who will be playing. Keegan made 6 changes bringing in Leeds youngster Jonathan Woodgate and Gray in for their first starts, To be honest I am not sure where Woodgate will play, I thought he was a left sided defender, anyway the lineup is and the formation as I see it.

Seaman

Southgate... Campbell ......Woodgate......

P Neville ........Batty................ Gray.

Redknapp .. Sherringham......... Fowler.

Shearer

Personably I would have had Sherwood in for Batty and Dyer in for Neville, (but there are minor differences) I am not sure on Woodgate, but Keegan isn't stupid so , we'll see if he turns out better than Ferdinand who didn't have a good half game on Saturday. The same goes for Cole, so far he hasn't been too impressive in an England shirt. It's great to see Fowler in the team, I think he will play as an attacking Left midfielder with Redknapp the same on the right, in between will be Sheringham with Shearer all over the place up front. This will give us 4 players capable of being in scoring positions, I hope it works.

The Under 21s narrowly beat the Bulgars tonight with a single late goal by Wimbledon's Carl Cort. It was peter Taylors last game in charge of the Youngsters .his contract having been terminated after Hoddle's dismissal. PETER MONKEY HEED takes over working along side HOWARD WILKINSON in the most mysterious move ever by the FA. I mean what does a man have to do to keep his job. Taylor has been the best England manager since Alf ramsey . Ok so he's just the under 21s coach but he has a brilliant record. I am sure he will be snapped up by a top club in the not to distant future.

Wouldn't it be funny if Sunderland sack Reidy in October after he has an abysmal start to the season due to him spending virtually no money on new players (bar a few cheapo Scandinavians and a clapped out over rated Spanish defender.) I can see the league table now , played ten won NONE. He gets the sack, to be replaced by .... Peter Taylor,

yeah that would be a fitting end to ald monkey heed.

Newcastle United.

Today, Hamman followed in the footsteps of Gullit and Shearer in pledging their long term futures to Newcastle. He said he was happy to see out his four year contract at Newcastle as he was very happy here.

Well that's nice, innit? That's what is supposed to happen when you sign a 4 year contract, you stay for 4 years. Contracts don't seem to mean much nowadays do they.

Shay given also stated that he would be back for pre season training to fight for his place after having minor knee surgery. he hopes to be fit enough to lay in Irelands game against Holland in July.

It looks unlikely that the Greek lads will be staying next year. Dabizas is considering a drop in wages to return to his former club Olypiakos . they are said to want him back for half a million less than we paid just over a year ago. I can't see Mr Shepherd being to pleased about that. I am sure we can get more than a million for Dabizas from Elsewhere. I hear that Sunderland are considering going for him. At £1.5 million he is in their price range, but his £12 grand a week would be a problem for the tight fisted makems.

The other Greek, Gorgeous Georgiados is the subject of a reported 500 k bid from Seville in Spain. I can't see why, if it's true that won't go ahead as that is around what we paid for a player that is clearly not in Gullits plans.

Visit the almost updated Euro 2000 site

Euro 2000 was a load of B*****Ks , that is if you are a Brit, with Wales losing to Italy , Bobby Gould resigns. Scotland fail to beat the Faroe islanders "Cod and Haddock arms" pub team, setting their prospects of qualification back. Worst of all is England don't get a single shot on target but manage 3 yellow cards and Scholes is sent off. My Euro report is on the Euro 2000 pages. click on the Euro link.

England must now WIN against Bulgaria on Wednesday, then the big match will be against Poland in September. If we fail to beat them then it could all be over.

On the Newcastle front, it is reported that Chelsea wanted to buy Shearer last week but were told to piss off.

On the "players in " front. David James , the dodgy Liverpool keeper has been enquired about. Enquiring is one thing but buying him? Please no, not James. Flowers is available for the same kind of money. I wouldn't mind the other wantaway Liverpudlian, (Robbie Fowler), He now looks likely to be off to London. Arsenal are considering either Rebrov or Fowler, whilst Chelsea also fancy Fowler, I bet Le saux is happy about that prospect of being in the same dressing room as fowl up hehehehee.

Personally I would prefer Arsenal to get Fowler, then possibly we may be in with a chance of plucking one of the most exciting players in the world from Dynamo Kiev. Sergii Rebrov wants to leave the Ukrainian champions and he wants to come to England, Ruud likes the look of him and has made initial enquiries . The big question now is "can we afford £10 million?" We would have no trouble if Shearer was sold, but we want him alongside Shearer / Ferguson don't we? This is why the likes of Given may have to be cashed in. isn't it?

No TITIes at Newcastle....Liverpool's new signing Titi Camara has revealed that he turned down the opportunity to join Newcastle last season. Speaking after his £2.65m move to Anfield, the former Marseilles hitman said: "Around the time of the winter break Marseilles wanted to cash in on me by selling me to Newcastle But I didn't want to go. I wanted to stay and make an impression in the first team and help it reach the UEFA Cup final."

So Liverpool have ended up with a right Titi , will we get the one Tit that is about to leave the pool? Robbie Fowler???

June 4th and BINGO, we hit the big one, whilst out on the town in Birmingham a couple of "our lads" were involved in a fracas with Nazi sympathizer Mark Bosnich, A camera was stolen BUT NOT THE FILM, we have the pictures but it will cost you to see them..... IT's IN THE SCUMFRONT PAGE NEWS
