Like most footy fans , I was glued to the TV today in the hope that Spurs would beat MAN U. Oh how much I hate them. Alas it wasn't to be, they won along with Arsenal but win the league by a single point. they're champions again I wont congratulate them as I dislike them soooo much. It's up to Newcastle now to stop the red bandwagon in it's tracks next Saturday. Otherwise next year will be unbearable with their so called fans rubbing it in that they are double winners At the other end of the table sadly Charlton said goodbye to the premiership loosing on the last day of the season to Sheffield. Southampton survive again, which means another awful trip to the otherside of the world for our travelling fans next season.

Newcastle took on Blackburn today in the last game of the season, A number of players had been rested notably Shearer Ferguson and Domi, also no sign of Charvet , looks like he is out for the final. Today's line up is

HARPER

GRIFFIN ... HUGHES ... DABIZAS ... BARTON

SOLANO ... LEE ... HAMMAN .. SPEED

MARIC ... KETSBAIA.

Subs, Given, Beharall, Saha, Glass, McClen

As with the rest of the recent matches it was a 1 - 1 draw, the players fielded just didn't give 100%. They had one eye on the FA cup and just didn't want to get injured. In the first half Wilcox scored against the run of play. The second half saw Saha replace Ketsbaia, and Glass come on for Lee. I feel that they to were just being replaced as a cautionary measure. Newcastle were better in the second half and Hamman pulled one back. Although with no real dangermen upfront though the score wasn't too surprising . Maric surely can't start next week, he just hasn't adapted to the pace of the English game, he was dreadful. As for the rest of the team :- With Harper in goal again i can't see Given getting back into the starting lineup, and my theory about given leaving to be replaced by Flowers may become a reality. The back four will probably be Domi, Dabizas, Hughes and Griffin. Upfront has to be Shearer and Ferguson (if fit) if not then Kets is the best of the rest. the only question is who will be in midfield? Hamman and speed look definites, so it will to me be a choice for the other two slots between Lee, Solano and glass. I wouldn't like to chose between them. Barton, Given, Kets, Beharall will warm the bench.

They say bad luck comes in threes, well the third bit a bad news was at Wembley where Bedlington Terriers went down 1 - 0 to Tiverton town with a goal in the last couple of minutes. This follows yesterdays defeat in the final of the Rugby cup for the Newcastle Falcons, beaten by Wasps 28 - 19 at Twickenham. So next week it's the third cup final for a north east team.

Bollocks, it's been a shit weekend.

Earlier news.. Oh how i wished for a different ending

Today will see a real strange phenomenon in England. The day in which the supporters of 91 football clubs all support the same team. No I am not talking England, I am talking about the Arsenal. It's not that we all want Arsenal to win the league, It's because we don't want Manchester United to win it. here in England everyone either loves, or hates Man U. Today immense numbers of fans across the country will celebrate if Arsenal win the championship. To see the supporter of Manchester United with tears in their eyes at six o'clock tonight will be a wonderful sight to behold. They chose to support Man U because they wanted to back a team that couldn't lose, because they (the scum supporters) are losers and want to become winners. Instead of supporting their local team , watching them through the good times and the bad times they chose to become glory hunters. They are now the most despised supporters in the land and everyone wants to see them fail.

Newcastle's game today can't help to fall into insignificance. Even the Newcastle management and players will have one ear to the radio, hoping that Man United will fail. It would knock them back, dint their confidence and boost ours ahead of our big day next week. Don't be surprised if key players are rested today. The likes of Ferguson, Barton, Domi and even Shearer may well come down with a nasty cold , a nasty rash or a nasty case of diaoreah today, leaving Gullit with no choice but to rest them. As for the cup final team playing as a team together? Don't worry about that, there will be plenty of behind closed doors practice games taking part within a locked up St. James' Park during the course of next week Ruud will have them well prepared for the cup final, that's for sure.

Next Sunday is our big day and the whole country will be behind us.Unlike last year when we were just another team, this year we are billed as the team that is playing against the hated Man U and everyone other than the Scum supporters will want us to win, . and win we can, for

THIS IS OUR YEAR!

13th May

A double dose of news today. As there wasn't much happnin yesterday, I played on CM3 and got SACKED AGAIN.... The mugs guide to CM3 and NUFC is here

You know when you go to these big theme parks and you see the queues at the entry to the rides. Loads of zig zag fencing and signs saying .'Waiting time 1 hour from this point.' ? Well driving past St James' park tonight, the fences for the expected queues were being erected, The Local Radio and T.V people were setting up their equipment and the queue was starting to build up. One lad had been camping out for 2 days at the front. They are expecting hundreds if not thousands to be joining him later on.

So what's all the fuss about? Is Seedorf coming to sign up? Is it Boban? Goma? Are there tickets on sale for the cup final?

No they are queuing up to be the first to get their hands on a new Black and White shirt, which is released at midnight tonight. I know I am am a bit of a toon nut but queuing up for days to get one , that's crazy.

The area around S J P was kitted out in black and white decorations and their are a couple of huge shirt banners hanging from the stand. Unfortunately I forgot to take my camera, so you'll have to wait for a few days.

On the transfer front BRILLIANT NEWS, Firstly that OLD BLERK from Kyiv has agreed to join Arsenal after Newcastle scoffed at his wage demands. So Piss off Luzhinney , welcome Marcelino and Goma who will be at the heart of our defence next year. When this ancient Ukrainian arrives with Arsenal next season i am sure we will give him the welcome that he deserves.

EVEN BETTER NEWS, is that Stuttgart have been talking to ANDERSON . indeed Newcastle knocked a bit off the asking price to quicken the transfer. only thing is ANDERSON DOESN'T WANT TO GO...... IS HE CRAZY, as Newcastle's most unwanted player (SEE YOUR FAVORITES list) You would have thought that he would jump at the opportunity to have a fresh start in a country with an easier league than here in England. But , like I say he still thinks he can get into the first team despite being snubbed by Ruud. Apparently he hasn't spoke to him since he came back from injury months ago.

Stephen Glass was a shock return to the first team last week at Leicester. This week another player that was out for the season is back in training and may make the bench on Sunday. Little Louis Saha has recovered from a fractured cheekbone and hopes to get some action against Blackburn. His ultimate goal being to get onto the FA cup final bench. with all this activity, I had to update my Predictions for the final and next year page ...IT''s HERE if you are interested.

The championship is still a two horse race as Man U drew with Blackburn last night. This means that our opponents for the last game of the season are relegated . AHHHH what a shame, Strangely they, like Man U and Newcastle are about to release an end of season song. It's being written by Fat boy Slim and should we here (preview ) tomorrow.

And Finally ..... . as they say .... Peter Beardsley's contract at Hartlepool has expired. He has said that the time has come to call it a day saying that he would now like to start in coaching . He hinted very strongly that an ideal post for him to start would be as a youth coach. Now funnily enough there is one of those jobs vacant at Newcastle. With John Carver being promoted Newcastle NEED a youth team coach, who better than PEDRO... OK I was going to apply for it, but I must admit Mr Beardsley would probably be better at it than myself.

SO , IF ANYONE WITH CLOUT IS READING THIS... GIVE PEDRO A CHANCE. remember his testimonial? everyone loves the bloke. "BBB" Bring Back Beardsley" Click here for Pedros Testy

It's all quiet on the Newcastle United front. As I mentioned yesterday Paul Dalglish is set to join Norwich for £300, 000 . And Ruud isn't going to Fulham.... he told me so on the phone yesterday. The predic T iT girl makes a rather strange team forecast for the Blackburn game (see her on the front page) and talking about TITS . Ex Newcastle United star Gazza is in the headlines again today. He was caught by Police on the fells above Whitfield, Northumberland shooting at ????

Our sister publication The Scum has the full shocking exclusive story. Only click on the headline below if you are not easily offended.

With The re appearance of Glass and Ferguson and emergence of Harper and Beherall in recent games along with the demise of Hughes and Given, the question of the cup final team is the only issue being discussed on Tyneside today. I have a crack at the team on the Comments page page.

On the transfer front it looks like Paul Dalglish will be staying at Norwich. A fee of £300,000 has been mentioned and newcastle look like they will be accepting the offer. The recently promoted Bantams of Bradford City, (or the tykes if you read The Star) could be lining up the million pound that Newcastle are asking for Phillipe Albert. In a bid to strengthen their side in the top flight next year. If they are after top quality players and have the money that they say they have, perhaps Ruud should get on the phone and offer a discount deal for buying in bulk. Surely they could use top Premiership players such as Adde, Georgiados , Perez and Serrant all for £5 million, If they took all of them off us then we could even let them have Hamilton back for free.

The Competition competition is drawing to a close. Only two matches to play before I have to part with the incredible prize that I mentioned. I wouldn't normally mind giving such a Mega prize out, It's just the likely winner is always nasty to me, he doesn't deserve to win it. still thats football, the best team doesn't always win.

Newcastle United are Crap, Ferguson, Charvet, Howey, Glass and Griffin aren't fit and won't be fit for the final. Ruud Gullit doesn't know what his best team is and is about to walk out on Newcastle as soon as they get stuffed in the FA cup final by the brilliant Man United. Gullit will then go to Fulham , and Newcastle will again be in turmoil.

Well thats what a number of people are starting to think,

I know better,

It's all part of :-

"RUUD'S CUNNING PLAN"

Yes indeed it's all part of the master coaches master plan.

Think about it. if Man U were playing Arsenal or Chelsea in the cup final , What would they think? How would they react?

I think they would be prepared to have a tough game that could go either way, they would have their best team out and would be fully focused on taking on the best. But It's just struggling Newcastle ... again in turmoil, can't win against lowly Leicester or any one else for that matter. I am not saying that Man U will step off the gas completely and play their reserves but they will underestimate us and take us more lightly than other teams.

Newcastle have had nothing to gain and everything to lose by trying too hard in recent weeks, they could pick up unnecessary injuries , tire themselves out, get Yellow or even Red cards, but what's the point? Unlike last year we wont be relegated, and we can't get high up the league.

So Ruud came up with this plan to lull Man U into a false sense of security. I bet you other than Howey all players will be fully fit for the final, although there will be still rumours that the likes of Ferguson and some of the others might not be available. I can even see Shearer getting a small knock that keeps him out of the Blackburn game.

Despite what Gullit and the players say, the league isn't important, It's all geared up to cup final day. Man United won't know what hit them as a full strength Newcastle United burst into action on the 22nd May.

When the cup comes home with the lads on the 23rd May all of these last few dire performances from Newcastle United will soon be forgotten. Ruud Gullit will become the new Messiah, Signing a new contract and given funds to give newcastle as good a chance as any of challenging for honors next season.

Remember. you heard it here first.

Newcastle United spring a suprise on Leicester and the rest of us by playing Ferguson from the start along with

HARPER

BARTON .. BEHARALL..DABIZAS..DOMI

. LEE .. HAMMAN ..SPEED .. SOLANO

FERGUSON.. SHEARER.

On the bench are,

 Given, Hughes, GLASS, kets, Brady.

Newcastle didn't want to risk any RED cards which would have ruled them out of playing in the cup final. So they played against Leicester without making any tackles. It was little wonder that they were down 2 - 0 nil by half time. Goals came from Muzzy Izzet after Elliot had had his shot saved by Harper. it fell to Izzet and harper had no chance. The Second saw Cottee bend a lovely shot around harper, who again had no chance.

The second half Saw the introduction of glass on for Solano and Ferguson strangely replaced by Kets.

It was a good fitness exercise but we never came close to scoring. Like i say a game without tackles doesn't work too well and we ended up on the losing side. Not to worry one game left to play until Wembley. With Blackburn losing today and having to beat MAN U to stay in the league before they play us next Sunday. Then Next weeks game could also be a damp squid affair as Blackburn could by then be relegated.

Talking of relegation, Charlton came back with a late goal against Aston Villa to win 4 -3 and give them a lifeline to survival. The last goal came from an incident that saw STEVE WATSON sent off for pulling down a Charlton player. The resulting free kick saw Lee Mills get a vital winner which may just be enough to see them stay up next season.

This wasn't the most dramatic event of the day. At the bottom of the third division relegation out of the football league into the non league Conference was dependant on Carlisle winning in there last game. After 90 minutes it was 1 - 1. Five minutes into injury time Carlisle had a corner. Their On loan Goalkeeper came up for the corner , he was on the end of the pass which he smashed into the net.

Carlisle who 25 years ago were top of the top English league were seconds away from going out of the football league, possibly into a merger with Scottish club Clydebank or playing non league football . There owner Michael Knighton who 15 years ago was on the brink of Taking over Manchester United, lives to fight another day. Jimmy Glass the on loan keeper will get the freedom of the city of Carlisle.

Scarborough will now go into the Conference with Cheltnham coming up to play with the big boys. Tomorrow sees the final game before the play offs in the first division. Sunderland Are up and already talking about buying Watson from Villa for £5 million. They talk big but act small, I can't see them forking out that much for a player, and would Watto want to play for Sunderland?

Not a lot happening today, Strong suggestions that Harper may well be in goal for the Leicester game, (is he now number one?) And will four 20 year old lads play in Newcastles defence on Saturday? Probably not as Griff is still not reckoned to be risked. My predic T It girl thinks that there will be a couple of changes, It's on the front page. A mini match report will be here at half time and shortly after full time on Saturday afternoon.

Just one more thing... Are you any good at managing Newcastle United in Championship manager 3? I am crap keep almost getting the sack. I need to know the secret of success, take a look at my Click here if you play CM3 Newcastle United page

Newcastle United have won the league and cup double. The cup was lifted at St James' park last night, a week after they won the league. For a more detailed report CLICK HERE.

Shearer cartoon

A 62 foot caricature (the largest one ever made) of Shearer was to be hung from the Tyne bridge yesterday, Unfortunately the rope snapped just after this picture was taken. The caricature was rescued and strapped to one of the support towers. Shearer though didn't have time to stay to see it repositioned. They are going to try again another day before it is auctioned off for charity. Thanks to Ian at Freepoto for the picture, I am sure he will snap it up again next time it is hung out (cup final day?). Click on the picture for a link to the Free photo site.

Newcastle United are reported to have signed Elena Marcelino from cup winner cup finalists for £5.5 million along with Alain Goma for £4 million and Luzhinney for £2 million. Three defenders coming in is likely to mean the end for Dabizas and possibly warren Barton. Thats why Gullit isn't saying anything about any new signings until after the cup final, he doesn't want to unsettle existing players. More speculation on Comments page
