Another pill-box of the type designed by the F. C Construction Company, to allow a 360° field of firing. Looking through the entrance, the inverted tapered roof support column can be seen. It was always borne in mind that the heavy concrete roof of this type of pill-box could be blown askew by a near-miss!
This example is in the south-west corner of the airfield, and sits alongside a Stanton air-raid shelter.
