Looking up the gradient towards Seaton, Siddick Pond to the LHS. To the right can be made out the remains of Burrow Walls, site of a Roman fortlet and mile-castle continuing the Roman defences south to Ravenglass from Hadrian's Wall. The existing ruins are not Roman, but were built later, evidence that the site was occupied during the Dark Ages.
