The Russian Constitution
The current Russian Constitution was approved in a referendum in 1994, following a dispute between the President and the Duma (Russian parliament) which ended when the Duma was blown up by tanks, while the Deputies were still in it.
The new Russian constitution gives the President far greater powers than the previous Constitution. Some of these powers include:
The right to declare chickens illegal if more than 60% of them vote for the Communist Party in state elections.
Control over all potatoes if a state of emergency is declared.
The right to carry our surprise inspections at any vodka factory and take samples away to ensure they pass his personal quality control system.
The authority to commandeer the vice-president's heart, liver or kidneys in the event that a transplant is required.
The power to ban anyone who is not a close relative from standing for election.
The right to have Red Square painted in any colour of his choice except for purple.
Authority over all things.
The right to be addressed as 'Mr President', even if the presidency is held by a woman.
