THE WELWYN HATFIELD U3A
The aim of the U3A is to interest and stimulate people of mature years who find they have more time on their hands.
Although called
University of the Third Age, it has no permanent teachers or
buildings, requires no academic qualifications nor does it issue
diplomas or degrees. It is a mutual self-help group with members
using their skills and interests for the enlightenment of others
or participating in a subject they may wish to know more about.
May we offer you
a warm invitation to any of our Wednesday morning meetings. They
open at 10.15a.m. for 10.45, either in the Focalare Centre, 69
Parkway, Welwyn Garden City, or the Lord William Cecil Hall,
French Horn Lane, Hatfield. Coffee is served between 10.15 and 10.40.
The charge to
prospective members attending a single weekly meeting is £1.00.
While this does not entitle you to join a group, it does give you
an opportunity to meet us. Prospective membership is limited to
three meetings. After this it is assumed the full subscription
will be paid.
Full Membership
costs only £15.00 per year. This entitles you to attend all
Wednesday meetings and to join as many groups as you wish,
provided they are not already fully subscribed. Annual
subscriptions may only be paid in the Spring Term. For those
joining later, a pro-rata charge will be made; £10.00 Summer or
£5.00 Winter.
