Stage 1. Form a loop with the free
end placed in front. |
|
A rhyme to help
you remember. Mumble the rhyme as you tie the knot. "First make a tree with a rabbit hole." |
|
Stage 2. Feed the
free end through the loop. |
|
"The
rabbit comes out of its hole........" |
|
Stage 3. Pass the free end around the
back of the opposite end. |
|
"and goes
around the back of the tree......." |
|
Stage 4. Feed the free end back
through the loop. |
|
"and jumps
back down its hole." |
|
Stage 5. Tighten the knot and use
the loop as the support. A suitable stop knot such as a figure of eight would be used on the remaining free end to
prevent it slipping through should the knot become loose.
Please note, the guidance contained within these web pages has obvious
limitations. It is recommended that you obtain proper instruction from a relevant training
provider before using any knots for serious applications such as tree climbing etc. |
